For the 3rd year running, Celtel Uganda continued to sponsor the coveted Pearl of Africa Music (PAM) Awards. On Saturday 1st October 2005, led by the MD - Mr. Tim Bahrani, Celtel guests arrived at Lugogo Cricket Oval - the venue of the hottest event on the Ugandan social calendar, to a beautifully assembled event. The show was characterized by a number of musical acts that included one from re-known South African artiste - Chicco.

“This year’s Celtel sponsored Pearl of Africa Music Awards was the best ever and as an African brand, we are proud to be associated to this event that extols and celebrates this gift not only to Uganda but also to mother Africa”, commented Cesear Mloka, Celtel, Uganda Marketing Director.

7 Ugandan artistes have been nominated for the African Kora Awards due early December 2005 in Durban, South Africa . This development is largely attributed to the dais that was put in place by the Celtel co-sponsored music awards. “We congratulate all the winners as we celebrate some of the most outstanding natural gift to Africa - Music”, Ms. Mloka further commented.
