Social projects

Celtel Uganda held a Build. Our Nation Central Launch at Namugongo Mixed Primary School on Monday 14th April, 2008 that was presided over by the Celtel MD, Yesse Oenga; the Minister of State for Education, Hon. Peter Lokeris; a representative from the Nnabagereka (Queen of Buganda Kingdom); the local council representatives and Celtel staff members.

The programme dubbed ‘Build. Our Nation’ is a major community based project and provides over UShs. 100 million worth of books every year to UPE (Universal Primary Education)/Government schools in Uganda.

The following schools were selected for the central region book deliveries:

1. St. Victor Mulabana P/S - Kalangala District
2. Nakivubo Primary School- Kampala
3. St. Mary of the Holy Rosary , Kakinzi Luwero
4. St. Luke Buyinjayinja,Masaka
5. St. Charles Lwanga Junior School, Mityana
6. Lugala Primary School, Mpigi
7. Mudende Community P/S- Mubende
8. Nakabingo P/S Mukono
9. Cornerstone Dem. School- Nakaseke
10. New Hope, P/S- Nakasongola
11. Kiwembi P/S, Rakai
12. St. Lawrence Kalambi P.7 school, Sembabule

Namugongo Mixed Primary School received books for Wakiso district.
