GPRS stands for General Packet Radio Service. EDGE stands for Enhanced Data Rates for GSM.
GPRS enables packet data to be transmitted over an existing GSM network after few alterations. This allows mobile device internet communication and other services like Multimedia Messaging Service.
EDGE is a modification of GPRS that allows for higher speeds (up to 10 times faster). EDGE opens up a lot of possibilities for connecting to data networks on your mobile phone, making it far less frustrating to stream video and download larger files.
GPRS EDGE fully enables the Internet applications you are accustomed to using on your desktop from web browsing to chatting over the mobile network.
