All incoming calls are free.
Make outgoing calls and send SMSes at local Tanzania or Kenya rates. Prepaid customers are automatically charged in their home currency. Postpaid customers are charged at local rates converted to their home currency upon billing.
Prepaid customers traveling into Tanzania or Kenya can recharge their phone with local Zain Tanzania or Kenya top up cards or with cards bought from your home Zain network in Kenya.
To make calls when you are in another Zain country in East Africa simply dial the international country code (+254 for Kenya, +255 for Tanzania, +256 for Uganda). If you are calling another cellphone, you will drop the ‘0’ prefix when dialing e.g. 0735 123 456 will become +254 735 123 456.
The One Network service has been activated for all Prepaid and Postpaid customer. You can use this service immediately. No registration is required and there is no need to switch tariffs before you leave your home country.
To recharge your account using local Zain Tanzania or Kenya top up cards please dial 138* then the secret PIN number on the local top up card and press OK (send) button. For example: 138*123456789123 [send]. An SMS confirmation will be send to your phone immediately.
To recharge your account with a top up card you’ve brought to Tanzania or Kenya from your Zain home network in Uganda please follow the instructions on the reverse of the top up card.
To check your prepaid account balance while in Tanzania or Kenya dial the same number that you use in your home country. An SMS confirmation of your balance in your home currency will be sent to your phone immediately.
No deposit is required for Zain network calling.
Usual roaming charges apply is a roaming enabled customer makes or receives calls while roaming on a network other than Zain.
Postpaid customers without global roaming access may deactivate the One Network service by contacting their local Customer Care.
